A 3 days worldwide e-readiness workshops at e-readiness (e-jobs) Skills build Summit 2002

The World Economic Forum (WEF), the Loral Global Alliance, one of the forefront developer and manager of commercial international satellite communications industry and IitConsulting, an information technology (IT) and management consulting firm with global reach in more than 160 countries, are coordinating three workshops at this year's first E-readiness (e-jobs) Skills build Workshops 2002, to be worldwide telecasted over 15-18 October 2002. Prior to the worldwide telecast, these workshops  will hold in Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Kampala, Lusaka, Harare, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cap Town, Durban  and Gaborone/ Botswana in year 2002.

The workshops will be provided by a wide range of leading experts in e-banking, On-line e-payment systems, e-jobs and VSAT technology   applications worldwide. The three workshops titles are as follows:

Keynote Address - Global Connectivity

A key long-term development in VSAT development is that newer satellites themselves have much greater power than before. In turn, this means that smaller, cheaper VSAT terminals can be used to receive signals from them, and with lower requirements for power. because it requires smaller antennas this also reducing entry-level costs.  This keynote address the latest trends in  new low-cost VSAT services around the world, which will lower the cost tenfold as an end-to-end solution for ISPs and other volume users.

"The term "e-readiness" is a buzzword that has been thrown around a lot in the overlapping fields of development and technology, but it is only recently that it is starting to be used as a practical concept that can governments, businesses and individuals frame solutions to the problems their countries face. It refers to the process for e-preparing a country, a business or an individual to be ready to socially and economically grow by reaching the worldwide global markets and entering the new Digital Economy.

Keynote Address - E-banking and On-line payment system  

Although at IitConsulting, we admit that payment by electronic means is still at infancy in the developing world, the advent of recent progresses made in the fields of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) have more than over before opened the horizon for global e-transactions and On-line payment.

GlobalConnexE-payment^sm scheme, the electronic payment initiative will among other things enable remote settlement of transactions for the first time ANYWHERE in the world and consequently act as a launch pad for true e-business worldwide.

Five major parties are involved in GlobalConnexE-payment^sm  scheme. There are the participating banks, the global Inter Bank Settlement scheme, GlobalConnexE-IBS^sm , merchants, and subscribers.

Each subscriber and merchant will have an eTranzact ID member  at a participating bank. Subscribers may give standing instructions to their banks to replenish the account as and when required. GlobalConnexE-payment^sm is capable of launching the Digital divided rest of the world into a truly e-business platform because it will ensure remote payment of bills or for goods and services worldwide and above all create a cashless society.

In the light of the most Digital divide countries, trusted sources estimate that more than 80% of money in circulation was outside the banks vaults. GlobalConnexE-payment^sm scheme will definitely come to the rescue by bridging the gap of a truly cashless society.

While much of the money in circulation remains in the bank vaults, GlobalConnexE-payment^sm  will make the informal sector very vibrant, will renew people's confidence in the banking sector and thereby making the banks a truly safe haven for money-keeping.
